King Charles Primary School sets high expectations for pupil’s appearance and requires that all children wear the appropriate uniform of:

Grey/ black trousers,

KS2 formal white shirt and tie

KS1 white polo shirt (no tie)

Grey socks and black shoes

Red logo jumper

Red and white checked summer dress.

Grey trousers/ skirt/ dress

KS2 formal white shirt and tie

KS1 white polo shirt (no tie)

Grey tights or white / grey socks and black shoes

Red logo jumper/ cardigan

Red and white checked summer dress.

Children are also allowed to wear a watch and a pair of plain stud earrings.

Any other jewellery will be removed and stored securely at the office until the end of the day.

There are occasions where children are unable to wear all elements of the school uniform, e.g. when shoes are being replaced. On those occasions, we request that a letter is sent into school explaining why the child is not in the correct uniform and that, as much as possible, the child wears clothes resembling the school uniform (e.g. school colours)

Our PE uniform is as follows:

Black shorts

White t shirt

Pumps (black) or trainers.

We request that children wear the appropriate uniform for PE.

If your child has their ears pierced, earrings should be removed on the day of PE.

Staff will not remove earrings and if children are unable to remove their own earrings, then they will have to miss a PE lesson. Plasters will not be used to cover earrings.

Class teachers keep a record of pupils who do not participate in PE, either by forgetting their kit or wearing earrings.

Should a child repeatedly miss a PE lesson, we would contact parents to arrange a meeting to discuss this.

PE is a statutory requirement in school and an important part of a child’s development.

However, if for any reason, your child is unable to participate in PE, a letter should be brought to school explaining the reasons for this. Any letters will be kept on the child’s file for future reference.

We recommend that PE kits are brought to school on Monday mornings, kept in school all week and taken home for washing on Fridays. This means that children always have their kits in school.
