King Charles is a two form entry school. The school is very fortunate to have large grounds, including a field, allotment area and woodland.
King Charles is a happy, friendly school and we aim to be inclusive in everything that we do. We have high expectations of all of our children and expect them to achieve as well as they can.
We want the best for all of our pupils and set out clear expectations for behaviour, attendance and uniform. Behaviour at our school is good, we use ‘Good to be Green’ as a behaviour system and children are rewarded for following our rules. Ofsted July 2017 stated:
"Pupils behave well when learning and this is shown by their willingness to work and listen to their teachers. Pupils move around the school sensibly and are very courteous and polite to visitors. During the inspection, inspectors had doors held open by pupils and were escorted by pupils to classrooms and other areas of the school."
We have worked hard to develop an exciting and engaging curriculum, which fires children’s imaginations and encourages them to develop a love of learning. We like to involve parents too, and regularly hold Inspire Days to share the work that the children are doing. The website gives you more information on the work that the classes have been doing and future activities for parents to get involved in.
As well as academic learning, we also believe that children thrive through being given the opportunity to participate in sports activities and other clubs. We are developing a comprehensive range of after school and lunchtime activities, which among other activities includes, football, cooking, dodgeball, skipping and art clubs.
We have an active School Council who is playing an increasingly active role in shaping our school. They have recently been working on an ‘Anti bullying’ charter.
We are pleased to work alongside Bentley Child Care to provide Breakfast and After School Clubs and Wraparound provision for our Nursery children. Bentley Child Care has a base at King Charles and also run a range of successful groups for parents.
Thank you for visiting our site. If you would like to know more about the exciting things happening at our school, please come and visit us!
