New Topic for Autumn
The text we will be using in literacy is called The Captive Celt by Terry Deary.
This half term we will be learning all about the Romans. We will use a variety of sources to find out about Roman musical instruments, the Roman Army, Roman baths, Roman numerals and the Roman invasion of Britain.
We will be revising internet safety and then use the internet to find out about the Romans. We will create a mosaic using the tools on Purple Mash.
Forces and Magnets
During our Science lessons we will be learning about forces and magnets. We will compare how cars move over different surfaces such as wood and bubble wrap. We will observe that a magnetic force can act at a distance. We will compare and group everyday objects into two groups: magnetic and non magnetic materials. Also we will predict whether two magnets will repel or attract each other.
We will be learning about Holy Buildings. Children will share their own special places and will describe why they are important. Also we will describe two holy buildings and some of the artefacts found inside them.We will find out the different ways holy buildings are used.
