This half term we will be learning all about Italy. We will use maps and atlases to locate major cities, rivers and mountains in Italy. We will learn about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii, in 79AD. We will visit the immersion room and take a virtual tour of Italy, taking in some famous Italian landmarks.
We will be revising internet safety and then use the internet to find out about Italy. We will make a leaflet on Italy using Purple Mash.
Animals including Humans
During our Science lessons we will identify that animals , including humans, need the right types and amounts of nutrition. We will look at the different food groups and types of nutrition. Our end goal will be to design a healthy Christmas dinner menu for the school kitchen. As well as healthy eating, we will also find out about the function of the human skeleton and learn about different types of skeletons: exoskeletons, endoskeletons and hydroskeletons. We will also find out how muscles work and look at different types of joints.
We will be learning about Holy Buildings. Children will share their own special places and will describe why they are important. Also we will describe two holy buildings and some of the artefacts found inside them.We will find out the different ways holy buildings are used.
Remember to be school ready, you will need to:
1. Bring your reading book and reading record every day.
2. Bring in any monies in a named envelope.
3. Bring your P.E kit in on a Monday morning.
4. Hand in your homework to your class teacher by Wednesday at the latest.
5. Bring in your library books to be changed during lunchtime or during the class allocated library session (3C - Thursdays) .
6. Children also need to make sure that they are practising their times tables and spellings weekly.
13th - 17th November - Anti-bullying week.
23rd November - Italian Inspire day - choose either morning or afternoon
